CDEV2500 Introduction to Language and Literacy

Students will integrate knowledge of children's language and literacy development, learning environments and teaching strategies to select, plan, present, and evaluate literature experiences to children of different abilities and diverse backgrounds. For required course activities students are expected to arrange observations, and present activities with a group of children between the ages of 3 and 8.

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this syllabus for the credit breakdown.
