ENGL0921 Applied Reading Techniques

This course is structured to give students an opportunity to apply the basic vocabulary and comprehension skills learned in Reading Techniques. In addition, the course will focus on higher level thinking skills including drawing inferences and reading critically.

Prerequisite

Qualifying score on reading assessment test OR ENGL0901 with a grade of "C" or better. Basic computer literacy skills required

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
