FDAS1611 Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH)

This course will provide the student with the skills and knowledge to pinpoint a NVH concern on a Ford motor company vehicle.

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Apply principles of mechanical concepts
Evaluate NVH concerns using precision measuring equipment
Identify common NVH concerns
Perform driveline angle measurements
Discriminate wind noise concerns
Interpret electronic service information
Perform match mount tire diagnostic procedures
Identify the frequency of different noise concerns
Describe the function of NVH diagnostic tools
Demonstrate safe service and repair principles
Inspect driveline angles

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
