ARCH2930 Architectural CAD: 3D Studio Max

This course will use 3D Studio Max software for modeling and rendering architectural design images. Students will also learn to import images created in other programs to develop and enhance those images into true-to-life scenes.

Architectural Drafting and Design program student or architectural industry experience with current working knowledge of computers

Apply software commands
Construct objects from primitive shapes
Set up cameras
Construct animations
Apply material textures
Set up scene lighting
Produce script
Create rendering
Apply illumination effects
Modify IK/FK control
Assemble completed scenes

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
