PLST2017 Extrusion Processes II

This course is a continuation of Extrusion Processes I that introduces students to single screw extrusion processes. In this course, the students will be introduced to blown film and micro-bore tubing extrusions. This course utilizes an industry-leading, internet based interactive training program, Paulson Training, to promote safe usage of standard extrusion equipment and processes. Students will be introduced to the set-up, operation, shut-down and troubleshooting processes of these separate extrusion dies and downstream equipment. This course includes the introduction to plastics drying technology operation, controls, and maintenance. Personnel in many positions, from machine operators to process engineers, will find the information in this course valuable to help make their work with the extrusion processes more efficient, including the knowledge needed to make informed decisions on the production floor.
