ELEC1400 Semiconductor Applications

This course will allow students to troubleshoot, design and build large circuits and systems.  Students will utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, functional block diagrams, component placement diagrams, deductive reasoning and test equipment to determine faulty circuits and components.  Students will gain knowledge of project management, technical writing, circuit construction and group presentation.  All skills will commence in a final project.

Troubleshoot a circuit device for real and simulated defects using schematics

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
