NURS1135 Healthcare Anatomy and Physiology
This comprehensive course provides an exploration of human anatomy and physiology for healthcare professionals. The course will explore the structure and function of the human body, including the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory, nervous, endocrine, and reproductive systems; homeostasis; and the physiological processes for health and wellness.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Describe the major structures and organs of the human body systems.
Describe the major functions of the human body systems.
Explain the physiological processes that maintain homeostasis within the human body, including mechanisms of feedback and regulation.
Describe how the body systems work together to maintain overall health and function
Identify the impact of diseases and disorders on the normal functioning of the human body

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
