MMVP2030 UI/UX for Designers

This course introduces the student to the foundations of user interface/user experience (UI/UX). Through this course the student will explore user centered design. Using wireframing and rapid prototyping tools the student will develop solutions for web and app projects.

Basic computer skills and understanding of Internet strongly recommended for successful course completion

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Conduct user research to create purpose driven design
Communicate with project stakeholders through wireframes and storyboards
Develop user personas from project specifications
Conduct UI and UX analysis of user experiences
Test designs with users
Create effective solutions using the principles of design
Demonstrate effective typography
Construct low-fidelity rapid prototypes
Demonstrate iterative design processes

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
