PSYC1200 Psychology Throughout the Lifespan
This course explores human development across the lifespan. The developmental process will be viewed from the theoretical, physical, cognitive, and psychosocial perspectives. This course will examine the complete lifespan, beginning with prenatal development and progressing through the process of death and dying.

Examine psychological, physical, and cognitive development in adolescence

Identify personal views toward death and dying
Explore abnormal human development
Explore cultural and familial influences on human development

Apply theories of development to life experiences

Describe current research in developmental psychology

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
