ABCT1255 Environmental Health, Safety and Equipment Preparation for Finishes
The student will develop a plan for refinishing a vehicle using the correct operation of equipment and paint. Concerns for environmental health and safety will be followed and enforced. This course will cover the characteristics of hazardous wastes and its safe handling, storage, and disposal.

Analyze personal paint shop safety
Evaluate different types of paint

Develop a plan for refinishing using a total product system

Demonstrate mixing paint using a formula
Identify how a paint system is applied by the manufacturer

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
