ENGC1250 SOLIDWORKS I

This course is designed to give students hands-on experience using SOLIDWORKS three-dimensional Parametric CAD software.  SOLIDWORKS is a mechanical design software that takes advantage of the familiar Microsoft Windows graphical user interface.  The students will use the software to create three-dimensional solid parts and assemblies.   The students will also create orthographic projections from the solid geometry.  Additive manufacturing may be presented in this course.

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
