FDAS1500 Engine Repair
This hands-on course teaches proper disassemble, assembly, repair, and diagnostic techniques for Ford engines. This course also includes how to identify and measure critical clearances.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Diagnose engine concerns
Isolate engine noise problems
Perform precision engine measurements
Research engine disassembly and assembly procedures
Identify engine cooling sub-systems
Perform engine overhaul procedures
Identify proper gasket sealing procedure
Interpret scan tool results
Describe the diagnostic procedures for identifying the root cause of engine failures
Perform specific engine diagnostic tests
Diagnose the front end accessory drive
Generate an engine cost factor analysis

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
