MATH1250 Introduction to Statistics
This is an introductory course in descriptive statistics, probability, and inferential statistics topics include statistical theory and experimental design, data analysis, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, basic probability, binomial and normal distributions, regression analysis and correlation, inference, and sampling methods. Additional topics may include chi-squared tests and analysis of variance.
Prerequisite
Qualifying score on math assessment test OR
MATH0960 or
MATH0980 with a grade of "C" or better

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
