ACCT1200 QuickBooks for Non-Accountants

This course is designed to provide skills to small business owners who need a limited understanding of QuickBooks in order to operate their business.  Topics covered with include initial setup, customer invoicing, vendor billing, and cash transactions.

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Set up the accounting system for a small business in a QuickBooks online program
Record customer invoices
Match customer payments to invoices
Record vendors bills
Match cash payments to vendor bills
Record inventory meant for customer resale
Prepare basic financial accounting statements
Explain the benefit of hiring an accounting service provider for a small business
Perform a bank reconciliation
Upload QuickBooks file to an accounting service provider

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
