FLPW2250 Proportional and Servo Controls (Robotics Application)
This course will include setting up and operating various types of open loop and closed loop servo systems. Emphasis will be placed on control and feedback devices as they are used in automated and robotics applications.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Describe servo valve terminology.
Design and operate open loop hydraulic servo system.
Design and operate closed loop hydraulic servo system.
Compare mechanical to electro-hydraulic servo system.
Design and operate feedback proportional system.
Adjust and condition control, gain, feedback signals.
Calculate servo and proportional characteristics
Experiment with the integration of feedback sensors

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
