MMVP1575 Storyboarding for Animation
This course introduces the foundations of storyboarding for animation. The student will learn about using storyboards in the animation industry. Using industry standard tools, the student will produce storyboards.
Prerequisite
Basic computer skills and understanding of Internet strongly recommended for successful course completion

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Demonstrate visual storytelling in storyboards
Analyze script for storyboarding
Develop a breakdown of script for storyboarding
Explain the purpose scenes, shots, and panels in storyboarding
Demonstrate camera moves in storyboard panels
Determine camera shots to support script breakdown
Demonstrate panel creation process from rough through cleanup to color
Create animatics for animation
Create storyboards for animation
Critique storyboards

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
