Academic Advising
A primary goal of Hennepin Technical College is to assist students in making progress toward their educational, career, and personal goals. In order to assist students to be successful, the following staff and faculty are available to meet with students:
Student Success Advisors
Student Success Advisors provide assistance with academic planning, course scheduling, and post-test advising. They are available by phone or zoom appointment and on a drop-in basis to help students with course registration, semester course planning, degree audit review, student appeals and general financial aid questions. Student Success Advisor can also help current students with change of major and connecting them to their faculty advisor.
Faculty Advisors
Faculty advisors provide assistance in planning a program of student consistent with the students’ educational and employment objectives. All students with a declared major are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisor throughout their program for course planning and registration. Additional services that faculty advisors can assist with are course substitutions, prerequisite, course override, and test out. Student’s faculty advisor(s) can be found on their schedule in their eServices account.
