CMAE1522 Quality Practices and Measurement
This course aligns with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council’s (MSSC) assessment and certification system for Quality Practices. The curriculum is based upon federally endorsed national standards for production workers. Emphasis is placed on Continuous Improvement concepts and how they relate to a quality management system. Students will be introduced to a quality management system and its components. These include corrective actions, preventative actions, control of documents, control of quality records, internal auditing of processes, and control of non-conforming product. Upon completion of the class content students will take the MSSC Quality Practices and Measurement 4.0 certification exam.

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
