ITEC2400 Network Admin 5

In this course, students apply their experience using the Cisco IOS to explore the Juniper routing and switching architecture and the Junos OS. Through labs and configuration examples, students will gain experience with Juniper devices, routing policy, and firewall filters. This course is aligned with the Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos) certification exam.

Describe the basic design architecture of the Junos OS
Navigate within the Junos CLI
Explain basic switch and routing operations and concepts
Perform initial configuration tasks
Configure inter-VLAN routing
Configure routing protocols
Apply a routing policy
Apply a firewall filter
Describe features that promote high availability
Perform file system maintenance on a Junos device

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
