ITEC1431 Network Admin 3
In this course, students advance their knowledge of router and switch operations. Students will configure wireless local area networks (WLANs), implement dynamic routing, troubleshoot neighbor adjacencies, filter traffic using access control lists (ACLs), and configure different types of Network Address Translation (NAT) methods.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Describe WLAN technology and standards
Implement a WLAN
Explain how routers determine best path
Configure IPv4 and IPv6 static and default routes
Configure single-area OSPFv2 in point-to-point and multiaccess networks
Design an IP addressing scheme to accommodate subnets of different sizes
Define route aggregation
Explain how vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits can be mitigated to enhance network security
Describe how an ACL filters traffic
Configure standard, extended, and named ACLs
Configure NAT services on the edge router to provide IPv4 scalability

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
