BUSN2220 Training, Development, and Performance Management

This course explores how adult learning principles can be used to create effective training programs. Students will investigate how to assess training needs, choose the right learning methods, and use new technology platforms. The course covers creating development plans that align with company goals, designing performance reviews, and measuring learning results and ROI. Additionally, students will explore how to adapt training approaches to different learning styles and work toward making programs more inclusive and engaging.

Explain relationships between development and talent management

Design performance appraisal systems that provide meaningful feedback
Develop training evaluation strategies measuring learning outcomes and ROI

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
