MUBE2000 Marketing and Monetization
This course provides an in-depth study of music marketing and revenue streams for artists, musicians, and labels. Topics include exploration of the most current and effective marketing strategies, tools, and methods used to monetize music.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Identify traditional and non-traditional pricing and marketing strategies
Research multiple modes and approaches to music monetization
Research the dynamics of the artist-fan relationship
Develop fluency with modern marketing technologies
Create a creative brief
Create a fan-friendly website
Develop a direct-to-fan marketing campaign for a music release
Apply analytical tools to measure campaign success

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
