BUSN2080 Project Management
This course will provide an overview of Project Management. The class will include design metrics for analyzing projects, and utilize tools required for tracking progress. The course will provide a framework for selecting, prioritizing, and scoping projects, while developing project charters.

Qualifying score on reading assessment test OR
ENGL0921 and qualifying score on writing assessment test OR
ENGL0930

Describe the project life cycle
Define the importance of project management in today’s organizations
Define and describe Agile project management framework
Describe relevant project management software to fulfill project goals
Explain the differences between project management and operations management
Discern how to select, prioritize, and scope projects, and develop project charters
Explore best practices for leading and managing projects
Describe methods for training and motivating project teams
Identify resources commonly utilized in managing projects
Identify project stakeholders and how they are impacted by the project.
Analyze how to leverage resources (people, technology, financial) in the implementation phase
Design metrics for analyzing projects
Utilize tools required for tracking progress
Define risk mitigation approaches
Evaluate the success of projects

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
