ARSP2140 Electronics for Audio Video

Every cord that carries your video or audio signal is carrying an electric current.  This class covers the basics of electronics, producing a foundation to pull from when wiring and terminating cables and systems.  AC and DC will be addressed.

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Describe electron flow and basic theory of electricity
Identify series and parallel circuits
Utilize Ohm’s Law
Analyze DC circuits and their properties
Analyze AC circuits and their properties
Perform analog circuit construction on breadboards
Perform circuit construction in simulation software

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
