ARSP2155 Pro Tools Fundamentals
This course covers basic principles and practical applications of digital audio recording and editing with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Successful completion of this course will result in the completion of the AVID Pro Tools 101 curriculum and will be the first step towards enablement for the AVID Pro Tools user-level certification exam.

Recommended: Concurrent enrollment in
ARSP1100 and
ARSP1110 or Instructor approval

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate file management best practices
Demonstrate use of disk-based recording systems
Demonstrate use of basic digital audio recording techniques
Demonstrate use of basic editing techniques
Demonstrate basic use of current DAW software applications

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
