CELE2050 Structured Wiring I
This course covers communications and other low-voltage inside wiring techniques and principles. Also covered are different types of cable and wire associated with these systems along with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Identify the basic components of a structured wiring system
Identify the types of tools and testing devices used to install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured wiring systems
Identify common safety practices used to keep technicians, as well as the public, safe from potential hazards
Plan the layout for a structural wiring system
Demonstrate supporting methods of structured wiring systems
Perform termination types, testing, and troubleshooting methods

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
