CELE2070 Industrial Wiring
This course covers transformer and motor selection, metering, busways, fusing, grounding systems, power factor correction, distribution and special systems used for industrial wiring.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Explain the fundamentals of industrial electrical systems
Identify National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations specific to industrial wiring installations
Identify and safely use common industrial wiring materials and tools required for industrial installations
Demonstrate how to secure electrical boxes, conduits, and raceways
Distinguish grounding and bonding practices for industrial systems
Demonstrate how to size and install appropriate circuit protection devices
Demonstrate proper industrial wiring methods.
Demonstrate the ability to install and wire industrial lighting systems
Explain electrical safety protocols for industrial environments
Explain the role of automation and plcs in industrial wiring

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
