CELE2150 Structure Wiring II

This course continues more advanced concepts in structured wiring including patch panels, access points, fire systems, and security systems. National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements are covered for all wiring.

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Develop comprehensive structured wiring plans
Demonstrate proficiency in the installation of structured wiring systems
Configure and secure patch panels, racks, and enclosures with proper labeling and organization techniques
Apply NEC standards to ensure compliance and safety
Diagnose wiring systems using network analyzers and cable testers
Explain how to resolve wiring system problems 
Identify any potential risks associated with advanced wiring installations

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
