CCIS2625 AJAX - On Hold

In this course, students learn advanced JavaScript and AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) and how to create high-performance, efficient, interactive Web sites. They will learn the importance of validating forms before storing data and how to search for data using both full and partial search strings. In addition, students will learn about APIs, the Document Object Model, XML Document Object Model, JavaScript Document Object Model, and various AJAX frameworks. Some popular third party AJAX frameworks such as Microsoft Atlas and Dojo will also be covered.

Analyze the basic architecture of an AJAX based application
Enhance an AJAX based application that creates an XMLHttpRequest Object
Construct an AJAX based application that sets up a user interface
Implement an AJAX based application that polls a server
Write an AJAX based application that handles timeouts
Identify an AJAX based application that reads uses status notifications
Modify an AJAX based application that sends data with POST
Design an AJAX based application that handles errors and exceptions
Plan an AJAX based application that accounts for security issues
Create an AJAX based application that initializes and then uses an event
Lay out an AJAX based application that makes use of both style and DOM objects
Write an AJAX based application that makes use of the init method and its response
Revise an AJAX based application that uses fundamental Web Services, APIs, and Protocols
Incorporate a plain HTML Snippet and an XML Document into an AJAX based application
Adapt an AJAX based application that uses JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) on both the server and client side
Implement an AJAX based application that creates Widgets programmatically and make use of their properties and events

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
