MGDP1285 Fundamentals in Web Imaging (Delete - May 2021)
This course explores web-safe color issues and image quality as well as image maps, rollovers, remote rollovers, transparency, simple animation, tables, buttons, rules and backgrounds. Discover the file formats and tools available to create images with small file sizes for quick download time such as: gif, png and jpeg (file formats). This course will also include copyright issues as well as hints and tips to find images you can use copyright free.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Execute web image optimization
Accept proper use of copyright images
Create image maps for web sites
Determine correct file format for web sites
Construct roll-overs for web sites
Construct image-slicing capabilities
Create a web site explaining the various use of images for web publication
Demonstrate image standards according the World Wide Web Consortium

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
