NURS1275 Transcultural Nursing (On Hold)
This course will explore meanings and expressions of health, illness, caring, and healing transculturally. This will prepare the student for practice in a culturally diverse environment.
Prerequisite
NURS1161 or current RN or LPN license
Course Requirements and Evaluation

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Distinguish characteristics of various cultures
Explore the nursing implications of a clients cultural belief
Apply competent health care assessment
Identify culture care of homeless individuals
Identify factors influencing transcultural nursing

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
