FRPT2230 Hazardous Materials Specialty Poisons, Radioactives and Explosives - On Hold
This course is designed to teach the necessary skills to protect yourself, your fellow responders and the public from exposure in a hazardous materials incident. The course meets the requirements of the OSHA 1910.120 for the level of Specialist. The course follows the NFPA Standard 472. The student will learn how to identify poisons, explosives and radioactive materials.

FRPT1180 or instructor approval

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Course Credits section of this syllabus for the credit breakdown.
