FRPT1210 Confined Space Technician - On Hold

This course will teach the student the proper techniques to prepare for entry into the confined space, enter a confined space, monitor the atmosphere, assess a victim, package the victim based on space restrictions, and safely remove the victim.

FRPT1205 and training to at least the NFPA 472, Standard for Professional Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Utilize air monitoring equipment
Perform lock out/tag out
Demonstrate mechanical advantage and retrieval techniques

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
