METS1110 Manufacturing Fundamentals III (Bridge Course) (On Hold - May 2020)
This course is designed for M-Powered students to bridge into diploma-granting programs successfully. All the topics covered in the earlier classes are explored with emphasis on more advanced knowledge and skills development in the areas of print reading, mathematics, and quality assurance.

Identify milling, turning and grinding operations
Construct an aseptic work area in a controlled environment
Characterize the impact of regulations on medical device manufacturers
Outline the requirements of ISO 13485 (International Organization for Standardization)
Compare 21 CFR 820 (Code of Federal Regulations) and ISO 13485
Analyze "mock" audit situations

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
