CCIS2662 Java Server Pages (JSP) - On Hold
This course is designed to prepare students for a career in e-commerce development. JSP is part of the Java technology family. This technology can be used to develop and maintain dynamic, substantive Web pages that are platform independent and that utilize or interact with other resources, such as the Java API and databases. JSP makes it possible to separate the user interface from the business logic by means of XML-like tags.

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Use a Database Server including JDBC
Describe a Servlet JSP life cycle
Write a servlet including sessions, cookies, and URL rewriting
Create several HTTP requests and responses
Write JSP pages that include scriptlet tags and custom tags
Adapt JSP directives to match client requests
Utilize JUnit for testing JSP
Create web interfaces to support existing middleware
Utilize J2EE best practices and design strategies
Create a JSP accessible database
Use EJB, including session, entity, and message-driven beans
Illustrate an N-tiered J2EE application architecture

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
