ENGL2121 Writing and Research - Replaced by: ENGL1100 - new gen ed # - Summer 2022
This course emphasizes the process of writing expository and persuasive essays using effective writing skills and a variety of research techniques. Students will also gain skills in critical reading and logical reasoning.
Prerequisite
Qualifying score on writing assessment test OR
ENGL1021 or
ENGL1026 or
ENGL1030 with a grade of "C" or better and Qualifying score on reading assessment test OR
ENGL0921. Basic computer literacy skills required

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
