CCIS2675 A+ Hardware Support
This advanced course will provide practical knowledge of Personal Computer (PC) hardware and printers needed to provide technical support to computer users. Students will acquire many of the hardware skills necessary for the CompTIA A+ certification.

CCIS1102 or instructor approval

Learning Outcomes
The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Install personal computer (PC) hardware
Troubleshoot PC hardware problems
Describe electrical concepts
Manage hardware device drivers
Troubleshoot printer issues
Resolve PC networking issues
Install end-to-end network cabling
Perform hardware preventive maintenance tasks

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals. Refer to the Credit Details section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
