ESOL0833 College Communication Skills III
Communication skills are critical for success in college. This course provides the knowledge and practice necessary to improve listening comprehension, speaking, and pronunciation skills in college-level American English. Students work on these skills through activities such as listening to lectures, podcasts, and videos, taking notes, doing dictations, participating in discussions, interviewing, and giving presentations.
Prerequisite
Qualifying score on ESL reading assessment test OR
ESOL0821 and
ESOL0822 and
ESOL0823 with a grade of "C" or better

Learning Outcomes

Course Scheduling
The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty two hours for each lab credit and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE). Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.
